The Renault Type AG-1 car was launched in 1907 (following on from 1905's Type AG) and was designed to be used as a taxi. It had a closed body “landaulet” for two passengers and a simple canopy over the driver’s seat. Due to their strength and reliability, from 1908 to 1914 the model became a very popular taxi, particularly in London with the Renault 8 CV Type AG car.
