A significant part of the German Wehrmacht vehicle fleet during World War II was made up of 3-tonne cargo trucks. One of the most popular was the KHD A3000, which was produced from 1940 onwards in the Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz plant in Ulm. This truck was equipped with a 4 cylinder Deutz diesel engine and had all-wheel drive for increased all-terrain/off-road ability.
KHD A3000 trucks were widely used by all parts of the German army up until the end of war, such as at the Soviet-German front, North Africa, Italy, and in France. In total, 5,960 KHD A3000 trucks were produced from 1940 to 1944.
