A significant part of the German Wehrmacht vehicle fleet during World War II was made up of 3-tonne cargo trucks. One of the most popular was the G917T, produced from 1939 onwards at the German Ford plant in Colonge. This rear-wheel drive truck was equipped with a V8 engine. The G917T trucks were widely used by all parts of the German army up until the end of war, such as at the Soviet-German front, in Italy, North Africa, and in France. Around 25,000 of these trucks were manufactured from 1939 to 1941 across different German plants.
