The Admiral luxury passenger car, with increased comfort and powerful engine, was the top model of Opel's pre-war model range. From February 1938 to October 1939, just 6,404 cars were produced. Due to the outbreak of World War II in September 1939, most of the cars were requisitioned and used as personal transport for senior officers of the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe. These cars were used both in the Western and Eastern fronts up until the end of WWII. The Admiral cars were produced in different types, with more than 3,500 cars having closed saloon bodies.
